Web 2.0: Wiki Research

How can a wiki be used in a current class on your schedule (not this course)? Pick a class and be specific how the class could create and use a Wiki on a regular basis (tip: Use the Internet, here is a good source).

Wikis can be used in history class. Everyone can contribute their own thoughts and can even start debates. The teacher can set up a wiki page relating to their current topic. Then each student can become a contributor and full on discuss a controversial topic.

What are the benefits of using a wiki in class?
  • everyone has their own idea
  • everyone participates
  • everyone can stay on the same topic

How can we create a wiki in this class, what would we contribute to it and how would we utilize it on an on-going basis?

In this class, we can create a wiki with the topic of technology news. Every Friday, we can put our interesting news topics and we can continually add news. We can learn new and exciting headlines each week and even put in our ideas.
What experience do you have using or creating wikis?

I have used wikis before and I had many lessons on them. Mr. Porfido assigned a project to do with a partner to define common social media terms.
